Hollywood's American History
"Hollywood's American History" is a free, open to the public, history
film series conducted each fall term at the University
of Pittsburgh at Johnstown. The series is sponsored by Pitt-Johnstown's
chapter of Phi Alpha
Theta International History Honor Society and by the History
Club. The films are selected and presented by Dr.
Paul Douglas Newman, Assistant Professor of History
and Dan Santoro, Associate
Professor of Sociology. Each film is preceded by a brief (15-25 minute)
presentation that evaluates the film "as history," provides a historical
context for the film, and which points out relevant questions or issues
raised by directors and producers. For past, present, and future schedules
