Dinner on Friday & Saturday, Saturday Lunch, and Breakfast Sunday not included.

This trip is open to any student in the University of Pittsburgh system. It is a voluntary, educational field trip sponsored by the Alpha Theta Beta Chapter of Phi Alpha Theta International Honor Society in History. Due to hotel and transportation constraints, space is limited to 11 students. Members of Phi Alpha Theta can sign up and pay the whole fee before September 13. All other Pitt students may register beginning September 16. To register, come to Phi Alpha Theta Meetings in early September, or contact Dr. Newman at 814-269-2987.

Itinerary and Virtual Tour

Friday, October 4

8am: Meet at Krebs Hall Parking Lot depart for Harrisburg, PA, arrive at National Civil War Museum at 11am. Tour the museum for the day. Tour Includes Lunch.
4pm: Leave NCWM and head to Quality Inn Gettysburgh Motor Lodge, 380 Steinwehr Ave, Gettysburg, PA 17325, ph. (717) 334-1103 to check in.
6pm: We will Dine locally, budget $15 for dinner
8pm: Ghosts of Gettysburg Walking Tour--Seminary Ridge

Saturday, October 5

7am: Reveille, Hotel Serves a Free Continental Breakfast
8am: Walk over to the Gettysburg National Military Park Visitors Center, see the the Electric Map at 8:15am and the Cylclorama at 9am
10am: take a 2 hour guided tour of Battlefield
Noon: Fast Food Lunch, Budget $5
Afternoon: Free Time to Explore the Town
5pm: Rendezvous at Hotel for dinner, we'll dine locally, Budget $15
7pm: Ghosts of Gettysburg Walking Tour--Carlisle Street
8:30pm: Hang out at Devil's Den and look for Spooks!
9:45pm Ghosts of Gettysburg Walking Tour--Baltimore Street

Sunday, October 6

9am: Reveille.
10am We'll Find an IHOP and Chow Down...no lunch today, so fill up! Budget $5-10. Depart for Frederick, MD after Breakfast.
Noon: Guided Tour of the National Museum of Civil War Medicine. Depart for Johnstown at 2pm
5pm: Return to UPJ, Krebs Lot.
