Pat
Duck, that is, and no, I don't usually take a sledgehammer to my computer
but some days....anyway, welcome to my homepage. On the way to my job interview
for Director of the Pitt Greensburg Library, I passed a movie marquee displaying
the words, "The Duck Stops Here." Naturally, I was struck with the irony
of that particular phrase and I have never quite forgotten it. A rip-off of Harry
Truman's quote, "The buck stops here," the movie marquee was advertising the flop
movie of 1986, Howard the Duck.
From 1980 until 1986, I was a librarian at the Hillman Library on the Pittsburgh Campus of the University of Pittsburgh. Since August 1986, I have been a part of the phenomenal growth of the Greensburg Campus as director of the library. In 1995 we moved into a beautiful new building called the Millstein Library. In addition to being the library director, I am also the coordinator for the other regional campus libraries at Bradford, Johnstown and Titusville. Please visit the virtual tour of our beautiful UPG Campus, the Pitt Digital Library, or our Friends of the Millstein Library organization. UPG schedules many events which are open to the public. All campus events are listed at the UPG Campus Calendar.
