Pitt Make A Difference Day (PMADD) has been connecting University of Pittsburgh students to the Greater Pittsburgh community through service since 2007. At Pitt, we truly believe that “the city of Pittsburgh is our campus.” As such, in 2007 Pitt’s Student Government Board supported by the Office of Student Life initiated the First Annual PMADD to give back to the community in which we live and learn.

Since its inception, PMADD has become not only a well-known Pitt tradition, but also the single largest day of service by Pitt students. Last year over 2,600 Pitt students assembled in front of the William Pitt Student Union to load busses set for 60 communities across the city. Students engage in acts of services ranging from cleaning up local parks to repainting neighborhood buildings to assembling safe sex kits for Pittsburgh AIDS Task Force. While serving alongside community members, Pitt students have the opportunity to form new relationships with peers.

This year our fourth annual Pitt Make A Difference Day will occur on the National Make A Difference Day, Saturday October 22 from 9AM to 4PM.
