Why join SWE?

Pitt SWE:
The University of Pittsburgh Society of Women Engineers provides students with many opportunities to network within the field of engineering and become involved in a national professional society. The ability to learn more about this exciting field and gain knowledge and leadership skills that will help to advance your future career. And to gain lasting friendships with people who have similar interests.

Pitt SWE provides "Evening with Industry" which brings in local companies hiring engineers to give presentations and allows students to network. In addition to "Evening with Inudstry" other local companies will come during General Body Meetings to talk in a more informal setting. We also hold resume and interview workshops that assists students in their preperation for entering the work field. Student panels are also provided to allow new students to ask questions about classes, the Swanson School of Engineering, and about campus life. Pitt SWE is also actively involved in the community and holds Central Blood Bank Blood Drives and hosts a SWEep over for High School Seniors interested in attending the University of Pittsburgh majoring in engineering. Close to finals week Pitt SWE offers a stress and relaxation workshop to help relieve some of the tension brought on by finals.
