Pitt SWE Activities

Dinnerview

Pitt SWE's newest Annual Activity is Dinnerview. The Dinnerview is an opportunity for female engineering students to get acquainted with the job interviewing process. Engineering Professionals and Human Resource Representatives from local companies come to the University of Pittsburgh to talk with SWE over dinner. The rule: Every time you get up to get more food you have to sit at a different table and meet someone new. The plates provided are small making getting up for more inevitable. Once dinner is finished, the group is split in two. One group of professionals is dedicated to resume critique while the other half conducts mock interviews. This is an amazing opportunity for students to make contacts, improve their interviewing skills, polish their resumes and learn helpful hints on what to do and what not to do.

SWE End of the Semester Banquet

PittSWE holds an annual Banquet. Attendees not only include students but Region G and Pittsburgh Professional SWE members. Professional SWE officers present regional and national SWE updates. This is another networking opportunity for students to meet Professional SWE members and enjoy an afternoon of fun and great food.

General Body Meetings

PittSWE holds bi-monthly general body meetings. Each meeting discusses a certain topic of interest.
Some of these topics include:

Industry Tours

Students traveled to MSA in Cranberry, PA. They received a plant tour, learned about the company and met with current MSA employees.
