    Letter from the President

Welcome to the University of Pittsburgh's Society of Women Engineers' webpage!

As a student organization, Society of Women Engineers (SWE, for short) aspires to assist women studying engineering as they advance into their future careers and achieve excellence as leaders within their fields.

Striving to accomplish this vision, University of Pittsburgh's SWE section provides many opportunities to its members, including networking events, career development workshops, and student panels. This year, we plan to expand our mentoring program, on-campus volunteering activities, and K-12 outreach programs.

In addition to these activities, SWE hosts fun, social events for engineering students, which promote stress relief and give students a chance to take a much needed break from the books!

I invite you to peruse our website to find out more about becoming a National SWE Member and leadership opportunities at the section, region, or national level. There is also an online registration form to become a member of Pitt's SWE section under the Membership link. Don't forget to take a look at our calendar of events!

    SWEepover

    March 19-20th, 2010
The primary purpose of the SWEepover is to help admitted female high school seniors experience life, as a female engineering student, on the diverse and energetic University of Pittsburgh campus. This program will also help students learn more about the field of engineering by being paired with a female engineering host to shadow, participate in various activities and stay overnight in on-campus housing. The next day (Saturday) will be a Day for Admitted Students program which will include a continental breakfast, Swanson School of Engineering presentation, student panel, a campus walking tour, discover Pittsburgh bus tour and much more.
