Internet2 @ Pitt Current Status

In March 1999 our connection to the vBNS was enabled. Traffic destined for other vBNS sites is now flowing over the vBNS instead of the commercial Internet. Significant performance improvements are expected and have been measured. Our connection to the Abilene network is currently planned for April 1999.
