Informational Meeting for Summer History Course

History 0606 (Maritime History & the Great Lakes) is an exciting opportunity to study and experience maritime history. Students will earn four credits and a sail-training certificate while living, studying, and working aboard the U.S. Brig Niagara, a replica of an 1812 wooden square-rigged warship. Students will be a “crew in training” working alongside a crew of 16 professional sailors (males and females) to learn by direct experience the seamanship skills demanded of sailors who operated wooden sailing ships.Students from last summer’s voyage will be on hand to share their experiences and answer questions. The summer 2008 course will set sail around June 28. Students will sail the Great Lakes for three weeks.
