Other Points of View: The Neural and Psychological Mechanisms of 'Theory of Mind' Phenomena

While a visitor at the Center for Fall of 2003, Rick Grush worked on constructing information processing models of the neural mechanisms underwriting the temporality of our perception and consciousness. The results will play a significant role in a book he is currently writing on the topic. Grush received a joint doctorate in philosophy and cognitive science in 1995 from UC San Diego, and after various academic stints at Washington University in St Louis, the University of Aarhus (Denmark), and the University of Pittsburgh, he returned to UCSD in 2000, where he is currently Associate Professor of Philosophy, and where he has recently taken up surfing.
