History

Each year, the Visiting Fellows Program hosts about a dozen scholars, drawn from senior and junior ranks, with a professional interest in the philosophy of science or in philosophically informed history or sociology of science.

Visiting Fellows have come to the center from the following 35 countries: Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, China, Cyprus, Denmark, England, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, India, Israel, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Poland, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Russia, Scotland, Serbia, Spain, South Africa, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, and the United States.

Every four years, Visiting Fellows congregate at the Quadrennial Fellows conference. Past conferences have been held in Rytro, Poland (2004); Bariloche, Argentina (2000); Castiglioncello, Italy (1996); Rytro, Poland (2004); Athens, Ohio, USA (2008); Mugla, Turkey (2012); Lund, Sweden (2016)
