resident fellows program

The Center has more than 50 resident fellows, who are drawn from 19 academic departments throughout the University. The resident fellows represent nearly every scientific and humanistic discipline. University of Pittsburgh faculty can propose themselves for membership as resident fellows, or they can be nominated by a current resident fellow. Such proposals and nominations are brought before the Center's Membership Committee for action.

Resident fellows receive no compensation and have no duties other than to participate in some of the center's many activities. The resident fellows form the stable corps of membership that gives continuity to the Center's programs and activities.

Many of the Center's resident fellows are scholars and scientists whose work is known and respected around the world. Through their ongoing participation in the activities of the Center, the resident fellows contribute substantially to making the center an intellectually stimulating locus of scholarship, research, and academic fellowship.
