This spirited tribute recreates one of the famous “Summit at the Sands” hotel shows, when the swingin,’ ring-a-ding group known as the “Rat Pack” was creating hipster legend with a free-wheeling, no-holds-barred nightclub act starring Vegas’ four favorite sons: Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis, Jr., Dean Martin and Joey Bishop.
THE RAT PACK IS BACK features uncanny vocal recreations, unbridled humor, and a hot, live big band that sends audiences straight back to the coolest time in history. Hits include “That’s Amore,” “Fly Me to the Moon,” “Mr. Bojangles,” and many more.

6. Cymbeline by William Shakespeare
Quantum Theatre
Outdoors in Mellon Park, Shadyside
July 31 – August 24 (selected dates only)
$15 Students, $23 or $26 Faculty/Staff; Purchase at 929 WPU.
Is it a comedy, a tragedy, a romance? Like Quantum, Shakespeare’s Cymbeline breaks the rules and doesn't care. At its heart are many journeys. Broken families stumble back together and characters struggle through dense fog to emerge whole. Cymbeline is a tale about who we are, where we come from, and how we find our way home. Written late in Shakespeare’s life, this highly theatrical, no-holds Bard has a cross-dressing heroine, Machiavellian villains, tyrannical kings, long-lost children, a wicked queen, star-crossed lovers... and a Deus Ex Machina that resolves a plot with more ricochets than 'Desperate Housewives.'

Original music composed and performed by Roger Doyle
Daring in its originality and profound in its achievement, this study in obsession is a temple for our fantasies let loose in a torrential rain of language that burns in the mind. Until now, the once-banned Salome has been obscured by the popularity of Wilde's comedies. But this exhilarating new production, directed by legendary Irish actor and director Alan Stanford, recreates Salome for a modern audience. Composer and pianist Roger Doyle will join Stanford in Pittsburgh and perform his acclaimed improvised musical score.
