Driving directions to Pitt

The Pittsburgh International Airport is 22 miles from The University of Pittsburgh. The airport is a hub for US Airways. The Pittsburgh Port Authority runs the convenient 28X bus route from the airport. The 28X departs every 20 minutes and the fare is $2.25. The route goes through downtown Pittsburgh to Pitt, taking about an hour. Take the bus to the stop in front of Hillman Library, at the corner of Forbes and Bigelow, which is right by Pitt.

The conference will be held in 1700 William Posvar Hall. It is located just past Hillman Library which is on the corner of Bigelow and Forbes.

By car, take Fifth toward Oakland, turn right at Bigelow, and proceed past Forbes.

By bus, take any bus into Oakland. For buses coming down Forbes from Squirrel Hill, get off anywhere after Craig and walk down Forbes past the Cathedral to Bigelow and turn right. For buses coming down Fifth from Bloomfield/Friendship, heading downtown, get off at Bigelow and walk past the Cathedral.

Directions to Welcome Party

The welcome party is at 1500 Shady Ave., in Squirrel Hill. From CMU, go east on Forbes Ave., turn left on Beeler St., right on Wilkins Ave., then right on Shady Ave.

By bus, take the 67F or 67A from Forbes Ave., get off at Wilkins & Shady, then walk south 2 blocks. Or, take the 61A or 61B from Forbes Ave., get off at Forbes & Shady, then walk north 3 blocks.
