• National Federation of the Blind - A consumer and advocacy organization, The purpose of the National Federation of the Blind is two-fold—to help blind persons achieve self-confidence and self-respect and to act as a vehicle for collective self-expression by the blind.
• National Library Service for the Blind and Physically Handicapped of the Library of Congress (NLS) - A free national library program of braille and recorded materials for blind and physically handicapped persons.
• Pittsburgh Chapter of  The National Federation for the Blind - Advances the general welfare of the blind of the Pittsburgh area and the nation.
• Virtual Assistive Technology Center - Information and resources to assist the blind or visually impaired in independent living.
• Washington Assistive Technology Alliance - The Washington Assistive Technology Alliance (WATA) is a consumer advocacy network. The purpose of WATA is to increase awareness of and access to assistive technology (AT) for people of all ages with all kinds of disabilities.
