University of Pittsburgh's ORB Mission Statement :
The University of Pittsburgh's Online Resource for the Blind and Visually Impaired (ORB) was created to provide a centralized resource of information pertaining to blind and visually impaired persons and topics. It provides links to various organizations (local and foreign), services, companies, schools, and research facilities dealing specifically with vision research.
Eventually, this site will also highlight the University of Pittsburgh Bioengineering Department's design and construction of a range of new accessibility and mobility technologies for the blind and visually impaired.
This site has been created to comply as much as possible with the World Wide Web Consortium's (W3C) accessibility guidelines. This site has been approved by Bobby, an accessibility evaluation program created by The Center for Applied Special Technology. Links to both the World Wide Web Consortium's accessibility guidelines and Bobby are available at the ORB links page.
