To provide a clear illustration of the formatting that may be used to accommodate the new NIH modular budget submission requirements, the following template is offered. Please note that this is an interim suggestion that affords some comfort level reconciling the current practice of exact dollar budgeting and the NIH imposition of budgets rounded to the nearest $25,000 increment.

In terms of Institutional requirements, the Office of Research is interested in the budget expressed in terms of increments rounded to the nearest $25,000. For that proportion of proposals that are subsequently awarded, the NIH will then confer an award budget in modularized increments.
