Student Organizations
Life at an active, first-rate university is, among other things,
a rehearsal for the life to follow. The real world is right here,
distilled but complete, with all of its joys and hardships, its
competition, exhilaration, hopes and disappointmentsand all
the characters you need to populate your ongoing personal novel.
Naturally much of the actionand some of the most valuable
experiencetakes place outside the classroom. Pitt has (at
last count) 400 student clubs and organizations including music
and theatre groups, sports clubs, fraternities and sororities, a
campus radio station, and seven student-produced publications. If
you'd like to start a club we don't have, find nine other students
and you're on!

cross country, football, soccer, swimming and diving, track and
field (indoor and outdoor), and wrestling. The Panthers also sponsor
the following women's sports: basketball, cross country, gymnastics,
