RESEARCH

The University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing is committed to providing a Researchresearch-intensive environment that generates new knowledge in health care as related to direct clinical practice and public health policy. The University of Pittsburgh is ranked in the top 10 schools of nursing in research support from NIH.

To facilitate the School's research commitment, the Center For Research & Evaluation (CRE) was introduced in 1987. The CRE supports basic and biobehavorial research as the school continues its expansion with focused areas of research in chronic disease, critical care, adolescent health and administrative resource and outcomes. An active multidisciplinary mentorship of investigators facilitates programmatic research development.

The Center for Research in Chronic Disorders (CRCD) was funded by a grant from the National Institute of Nursing Research. The CRCD provides infrastructure and method support for systematic design and testing of evaluation outcomes to impact the person with a chronic disease.
