Fast Track Back: Re-Entry to Practice for Registered Nurses

This program is designed for Registered Nurses with a current nursing license in the state of Pennsylvania to refresh their nursing skills.  This program is a recognized refresher program and not a reinstatement program, which is required in the event a Registered Nurse has let the nursing license expire.

Classes are offered twice during the calendar year.  The schedule for the year 2007 is: 

  1. SPRING SESSION - April 18, 25, May 2, 9 and 16 with clinical practicum completed by May 27
  2. FALL SESSION - October 3, 10, 17, 24, 31 with clinical practicum completed by November 11
Cost: $1,200.00 – tuition covers the cost of the program, textbooks, lunch and parking for the didactic and simulation components in Oakland Campus
$12 – Liability Insurance fee

Yoga Basics

March 14 — April 11, 2007

Overview: This CE program explores yoga from physical and theoretical perspectives. The eight limbs of yoga are discussed. Participants will practice and demonstrate basic yoga asanas.
Participants should bring a mat and towel and wear comfortable clothing. Pencils and handouts will be provided.

Alexander Technique

March 15 — April 12, 2007

Overview: The Alexander Technique reestablishes your kinesthetic sense and uses principles of movement and anatomy to help you take conscious control of your habits. Through the teacher’s light touch, this workshop will give you a taste of the Technique’s power to enliven your whole body, balance you, and restore your ease, flexibility and range of motion.

2007 Pharmacology Update Conference

Overview: Our 2007 Annual Pharmacology Update includes topics of interest for all health care professionals, including advanced practice nurses, pharmacists, physicians and physician assistants. We emphasize a broad pharmacologic knowledge base through dynamic presentations of pharmacologic issues affecting patient care. Concurrent sessions address drug therapies for adult and child populations with content that enables clinicians to offer pharmacologic interventions that are evidence-based and support best practice. The objectives of this conference are to:

  1. offer evidence based pharmacologic management for specific illnesses,
    specific illnesses, and
  2. discuss patient response to drug therapies
