TEACHING:
I have more than 18 years experience in nursing education.
SERVICE:
Stephen Minister, Certified Lay Speaker for the United Methodist Church, Lay leader for my congregation. Active in Delta Kappa Gamma, a service organization promoting female educators and excellence in education. I also love to sing anywhere and everywhere that I can! Am also an active member of the Pitt Nursing Alumni Association where I serve as the post-baccalaureate representative.
BACKGROUND:
Have been a staff nurse in med-surg nursing and critical care, as well as a head nurse, supervisor, patient educator, and staff development instructor. Served as an item writer and reviewer for several years for the NCLEX-RN examination. My “loves” in nursing are oncology nursing, particularly care of the terminally ill and dying patient, cardiac care, and care of the patient with a renal and/or endocrine disorder. I give God the glory each and every day of my life for the privilege of serving him as a nurse.
