Research Abstracts


RESEARCH:

My research focuses on the effect of excessive daytime sleepiness on daytime activity in adults with chronic illness. More specifically, my research examines the effect of obstructive sleep apnea on functional outcomes of self management in persons with type 2 diabetes mellitus.

TEACHING:
My teaching responsibility is in the Accelerated Second Degree BSN Program. I teach the course NUR 1282, Nursing Management of the Adult with Acute/Chronic Health Problems in the Accelerated Program

SERVICE:
I am the Coordinator of the Accelerated Second Degree BSN Program. In this role, I oversee the quality of the curriculum and the matriculation and progression of second degree students. I am a member of the Sleep Research Society and was appointed to the Membership Committee. I am also a member of Sigma Theta Tau International and Eastern Nursing Research Society.
