PROGRAM PURPOSE
The purpose of the Certificate in Legal Nurse Consulting and Forensic Nursing
Program is to provide students in BSN or MSN studies the opportunity to obtain
a certificate in Legal Nurse Consulting and Forensic Nursing.

| PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
The certificate program comprises five 3-credit courses, including a precepted
practicum, and electives. The five courses are:
- NUR 1820/2820:
Introduction to Legal Nurse Consulting and Forensic Nursing
- NUR 1821/2821: Advanced Practice in Legal Nurse Consulting
and Forensic Nursing
- NUR 1822/2822: Legal Nurse Consulting and Forensic Nursing
Seminar and Practicum
- NUR 1823/2823: Forensic Psychiatric Mental Health and Correctional
Nursing
- ADMJ 1100: Crime Scene Investigation
Completion of the certificate
program is evidence of broad-based knowledge and skill in Legal
Nurse Consulting and Forensic Nursing. |

| PROGRAM OBJECTIVES
In addition to meeting the objectives of the BSN or MSN programs,
the graduate of the Certificate in Legal Nurse Consulting and Forensic
Nursing Program will:
- Apply the knowledge and skills achieved in the undergraduate or graduate
program in Legal Nurse Consulting and Forensic Nursing.
- Be eligible to sit for a certification examination administered by The
American College of Forensic Examiners International (ACFEI)
