Three different areas of focus are offered through the Nursing
Administration program and can be taken on a full time or part
time basis:
- Clinical Nurse Leader (Master's level)
- Nursing Leadership (Master's level)
- Nursing Leadership (Doctoral level)
Each of these programs is designed to prepare nursing leaders
to meet the rapid changes and complex challenges facing the health
care industry. Core courses provide a foundation in research for
evidence based practice, nursing outcomes, use of technology,
leadership development and organizational theory. This knowledge
is then enhanced with cognates in economics, health policy,
and management of resources designed to develop advanced practice
skills. Each program includes a uniquely designed clinical residency
with access to a wide range of clinical sites, including one of
the premier health care systems in the country. In addition to
the School of Nursing, courses are offered through the School of
Medicine, the Graduate School of Public Health, and the Katz School
of Business.
Faculty in the Nursing Administration Program include individuals
with extensive experience in leadership of clinical systems, executive
practice, professional communication and development, and health
policy.
