WELCOME to Pitt NSBE

Greetings from our President

On behalf of the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE), University of Pittsburgh chapter, we would like to cordially welcome you to build a partnership with the largest student managed organization in the world. We are a non-profit organization whose purpose is to mature young minority students into leaders and professionals who can positively and effectively function in the corporate and professional world. Our mission is to increase the number of culturally responsible black engineers who excel academically, succeed professionally, and positively impact the community.

At the University of Pittsburgh, we have not only had success in living out our mission, but also in the recruitment, retention, and graduation of qualified minorities in science, technology, engineering and math. Our chapter programs embrace eight key directives: academic excellence, leadership development, technical excellence, cultural and community awareness, financial vitality, communications, continuous education and career access. We have been recognized on both a regional and national level in recent years for our excellence in academics, community service, quality of programs, and leadership development and mentoring.
