We have begun a new Training program focusing on the genetics of chronic psychiatric conditions. This program aims to build infrastructure and expertise in Egypt and India. These two countries have a combined population of 1.2 billion people. Over the past two decades we have built fruitful ties and collaborations in these countries, and are recurrently working on several other research projects and programs in addition to this.

Here is further information on the 'Promoting Research in the Middle East Extending the Tri National Training Program for Psychiatric Genetics (TNT PPG)' Meeting held on May 27-28, 2010 in Pittsburgh.

This training program was organized and funded several years ago and is currently ongoing. It expands on our collaboration with clinical and genetics groups at RML Hospital in New Delhi as well as with the University of Delhi. It has been a very productive effort, and as the trainees continue to develop we hope to continue to collaborate with them in expanding our research and development efforts.
