Who We Are

nidus: a journal of contemporary art and literature is published at the University of Pittsburgh by graduate students in the Master of Fine Arts Program. We seek to publish high quality, cutting-edge works of Poetry, Fiction and Creative Nonfiction. The word "nidus" means a nest or a breeding place; a place where something originates, develops or is located. Keeping this in mind, our journal strives to be a source and center for talented writers and discriminating readers. We feature the work of both established and up-and-coming writers, plus insightful interviews and discussion from today's writers and artists.
