Children's International Summer Village

July 16th, 2008

The Nationality Rooms hosted the CISV and its 2008 participants from twelve countries.  Children from USA, Canada, Brazil, Indonesia, India, Germany, Denmark, Norway, Jordan, Egypt, Costa Rica, and Philippines attended and were given a tour with a scavenger hunt.  The clues pertained to themes introduced on a normal Nationality Rooms tour, such as science, music, or art and literature. Following the tour, the children enjoyed cookies provided by Nationality Rooms committee members. Textiles and garments rarely seen from the Nationality Rooms collection were on view in the Croghan-Schenley Ballroom. Finally, the children scattered to different parts of the Commons Room to draw what they had seen or what was around them.
