Queen Mother |
African Heritage Classroom Queen Mother The Queen Mother
is our classroom’s unifying symbol, representing “Mother Africa.” In a number
of West African kingdoms, the King’s mother occupies a special place in social
and political life. Known as the Queen Mother, she often had her own palace
and was charged with maintaining moral and ethical standards in the kingdom,
meting out punishment when necessary in her own court. |
