ADAPT² – Advanced Distributed Architecture for Personalized Teaching and Training (primary designer) [more]
ADAPT² is a framework targeted at providing personalization and adaptation services for developers of content that lacks personalization. Includes a central user modeling server/service (CUMULATE), portal (Knowledge Tree), and Personalization Service Engine.
PERSEUS – Personalization Service Engine for ADAPT² architecture (developer) [more] PERSEUS engine creates an abstraction between a non-personalized information/educational system and user modeling server. Knowledge Tree portal is the major consumer of services provided by PERSEUS such as: social navigation, topic-based navigation, concept-based navigation, and adaptive filtering.
CUMULATE – Centralized User Modeling Architecture for TEaching (designer & developer) [more] CUMULATE is a central user modeling server designed to provide user modeling functionality to an adaptive educational system. It collects evidence (events) about student learning from multiple servers that interact with the student. It stores the students' activities and infers their learning characteristics, which are the basis for an individual adaptation to them.
Knowledge Tree – Learning management portal (developer) [more] Knowledge Tree is a link aggregating portal. It presents content structured according to the folder-document paradigm. Knowledge Tree provides authentication and authorization and implements a simplified form of access control. It supports collaborative authoring and social annotation.
CoPE - Collaborative Paper Exchange (developer) [more] CoPE is a system that provides community-based authoring and access to paper summaries via the web. CoPE is an in-class tool for teachers and students.
NavEx - value-added service providing adaptive navigation to WebEx code examples (developer) [more] NavEx is a Web-based adaptive navigation tool for exploring programming examples. Serves as the adaptive guidance shell for WebEx. Extends traditional performance-based annotation. NavEx uses concept indexing of the examples and provides three types of information to students.
PAWS - Personalized Adaptive Web Systems Lab web-site (creator and co-manager)
WebEx - Annotated Code Examples on the Web (inherited and redesigned) [more] WebEx is a Web-based tool for exploring programming examples. Experienced and novice programmers often use program examples they have created or learned in the past to solve new programming tasks
SlideTutor - Intelligent Tutor in Dermatology (data-analyst) [more]
SlideTutor is a knowledge-tracing intelligent tutoring system that provides a simulated environment for derma-pathologists. It uses "virtual slides" of tissue samples, monitors progress, and offers help when needed
HyperTest - distance learning and parametric testing system (co-designer, developer)
