I was born in Erie, PA and have since been defending its majestic sunsets (ranked third best in the world by National Geographic!). After graduating from McDowell High School in 1997, I entered the class of 2001 at Princeton University. New Jersey quickly became a second home to me, and I have very much enjoyed my three years at Princeton.

At the advice of many friends and relatives, and because of my love for math, I chose mechanical engineering as a tentative major. I hadnÕt expected to graduate in that field, but as the years progressed I found that I enjoyed solving differential equations and idealizing coffee pots. However, long before this time, I had envisioned my real future occupation.

When my rock band failed to materialize in third grade and flying to the moon lost its appeal in fourth grade, I began to panic about a career choice. Fortunately, by fifth grade I had heard my calling to the medical profession. As I remember it, the epiphany came after I finished reading my Charlie BrownÕs Encyclopedia of the Human Body for the fourth time.

This coming year I will graduate from Princeton. I plan to take a year off before entering medical school. Hopefully IÕll be traveling with a volunteer program offering medical aide to impoverished countries. I would also like to participate in a one-year teaching program for inner-city schools.

This summer with the MSRC has been wonderful. I enjoyed my project and will treasure the friendships I've made. IÕd like to thank Dr. Woo for giving me this opportunity and Dr. Wang and Feng Yan Jia for teaching a mechanical engineer some biology!
