I was born in Amarillo, Texas where I lived for about eight years. Moving to Pittsburgh then was like moving to a foreign country, but now I definitely can say that IÕm a Pittsburgher, even though I hope I donÕt talk like one.

Dr. Debski introduced me to the MSRC in February. I volunteered a couple hours a week to get some experience, and then started working full time this summer. I feel that the MSRC has provided me with a great deal of knowledge about research and biomechanical engineering. Learning bioengineering aspects with a hands-on perspective has only fueled the fire to pursue my degree. However, the most valuable lesson IÕll take with me is Ôwhen having computer problems, always rebootÕ.

For four summers previous to this one, I lifeguarded at Raccoon Creek State Park where we were actually outside in the sunlight. Currently I am the treasurer of the Biomedical Engineering Society at the University of Pittsburgh. I enjoy mostly outdoor sports and hobbies. In the future I am hoping to get into medical school after I finish my undergraduate degree in Bioengineering at the University of Pittsburgh.

I would like to thank Dr. Savio L-Y Woo, Dr. Richard Debski, and Dr. Lars Gilbertson for the chance to work here.
