Research Interests:
  • Experimental, theoretical and numerical analyses of the nonlinear mechanical properties of biological tissues.
  • Development of nonlinear viscoelastic theories for biological soft tissues.
  • Homeostasis of ligaments and tendons secondary to decreased as well as increased levels of applied stress and motion.
  • Novel ways to enhance healing and repair of the tendon, ligament and meniscus.
  • Functional tissue engineering of ligament and tendon healing and regeneration by examining the processes from molecular to cellular to tissue to organ levels.
  • Use of robotic technology to evaluate the function of ACL and its replacement grafts.
