Research Interests:
  • Kinematics of various joints including knee and shoulder to rigorously assess the contributions of various soft tissues using a six degree of freedom robotic/universal force-moment sensor testing system.
  • New techniques utilizing antisense gene therapy on Type III and Type V collagens and functional tissue engineering techniques involving the use of small intestinal submucosa (SIS) to improve the healing of injured knee ligaments.
  • Nonlinear and viscoelastic material properties of biological tissues.
  • Effects of stress and motion on healing and repair of soft tissues.
