Pay careful attention to the starred items, especially those which recieve red stars. You should be able to define each item, and explain why it is important.
Note the "consensus esitmates" for each item before the release date, and after the release date, note whether the news moved the markets.

- The Little Book of Economics by Greg Ip, is the best short survey of macroeconomics I know of. Ip, who writes for the Wall Street Journal, subtitles the book "How the Economy Works in the Real World", and is very good at relating macroeconomic theories to recent events.
