I hope each of you are making plans to
attend the next Markle Reunion on the FIRST SUNDAY IN AUGUST, 07, 2005.
I'm
sending out the reservation forms early and I hope you will get them back to
me as soon as you can. I have to keep the other
committee members informed
and Mark Dreibelbes who is hosting the reunion. He is a Markle descendant
through George
and he has graciously agreed to allow the reunion to be held
on the Dreibelbis Historic farm.
There will be hayrides for the children,
a petting zoo, tours of the historic
home where you will see many relics from the past. A buffet' luncheon will be
prepared on the
premises and we'll need a few volunteers to help. This is a
farm location, you need to bring a folding chair if you can.
If you're unable
to, you can always go into the big barn where the tables are and rest.
There won't be a program this year.
We had one the first year because it was
the first one. This year is for visiting and getting to know one another,
trading info, and
just having a good time. We should get there about 10:00
a.m. and visit until Lunch. Shortly after lunch before anyone departs,

and Glenn Markle will show slides of George and Gaspard. Afterwards I will
choose some gifts by drawing only.(not by age
or distance traveled etc.)
In an effort to attract new cousins this year there will be a nice prize for
the one who gets the most people to attend.
So... persuade your relatives....

Where Shep lives in Elizabethtown,
there are several choices of motels not far away.
About an hour's drive to
the reunion from that area. Same for Reading area. I'll be staying in Elizabethtown.
Plenty room for RV's, motorhomes or tents, but no hook-ups. Plenty room for
cars to park.
Drive into the yard and pass the house and park in the field.

Mark Dreibelbis is providing the luncheon and the Farm Location for us to
hold the reunion.
All the money collected will go for the luncheon and the
restoration of the on-sight museum, homesite of J Christian's granddaughter.
The 1.00 will remain in the Reunion fund for
incidentals.
