Kuldeep Shastri's Personal Page

Welcome to my personal page. My name is Kuldeep Shastri. I am told my first name means "Light of the Family," but am not certain any member of my family would agree with that characterization. I currently hold the Ahlbrandt Endowed Chair in Finance and am a professor of business administration at the University of Pittsburgh's Katz Graduate School of Business. I joined Pitt in 1981 after completing my Ph.D. at UCLA. My research focuses on issues related to derivative securities, market microstructure and corporate finance. I teach courses in corporate finance, derivatives, financial engineering and investments. Please check out my bio and vita  if you are interested in more details on my professional life.

My family consists of my wife, Karen, and one son, Joey. Here is a not so recent picture of the three of us.

When I am not at work, I like to cook (I am pretty good at it) and watch sports especially anything that involves the Pittsburgh Penguins, the Pittsburgh Pirates, the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Pittsburgh Panthers and the UCLA Bruins.
