Kristin R. Gottron

Ad Maiorem Dei Gloriam

Hi! My name is Kristin Gottron, and I am a freshman engineering student at the University of Pittsburgh. Since I was born and raised in the North Hills, I enjoy the new experience of living in the city instead of the suburbs. Even though I have finished high school, I hope that I made a difference through my involvement in the marching band, National Honors Society, choir, and Junior Classical League. I also participated often in the St. Sebastian Catholic Youth Organization (CYO), and I now volunteer with the CYO and in St. Sebastian Parish during breaks from school. Now that I have entered college, I participate in activities at the Oratory of St. Philip Neri and the Newman Center, the St. Paul's Cathedral Choir, University Christian Outreach, and Cornerstone Christian Ministry. I just returned from a Fellowship of Catholic University Students (FOCUS) Conference in Grapevine, Texas, which I attended with the Newman Club. This unforgettable experience helped me to grow in enthusiasm and knowledge about my faith and filled me with excitement about the New Evangelization started by Pope John Paul II.

Our Project

The Hill House Association is located in the Hill District of Pittsburgh and provides a comprehensive array of services to the surrounding neighborhoods. The Hill House Association is currently working with Denys Candy, the managing partner of The Community Partners Institute, to support the Find the Rivers! partnership whose goal is to generate sustainable links from within Hill District communities to the economic and recreational opportunities along the Allegheny river to the north and the Monongahela river to the south. In order to assist the Hill House Association in doing this, we will continue the development of the trail along the ridge above the Allegheny River that would connect existing and proposed green space and proposed overlooks.
