Kari's Cats - Past and Present

This is Chelsea, the very first cat to own me :-).  She was actually a shared cat - my roommate at Allegheny College adopted her from the humane society.  We kept her for a year in our dorm room!  This picture is from our second year with Chelsea.  As you can see, she was a little scared of our house; she seemed to prefer the dorm room.  Sadly, Chelsea passed away later that semester, due to her advanced age.  I still miss her....

Lil' Zane and his favorite toy
Zane

This is my next kitty, Zane, as a kitten.  When my ex-boyfriend and I decided we wanted a cat, our friend Adam found one - in the sewer!  The little guy probably got washed away from his litter, and Adam rescued him and gave him to us.  He was such a playful little guy... loved moths and laser pointers.  This picture shows Zane and his favorite toy, a horse Beanie Baby.  He spent many hours playing with it - when he grew older, he would carry it around in his mouth and make growling sounds.  I think he thought he killed it!

He's really beating that horse up!

Another picture of Zane as a kitten - isn't he cute???

When Zane was about a year old, we decided that he needed a companion - a girl kitten.  So Adam found a friend that was giving away kittens, and thus we found Isis.  She was the only female in the litter, and the runt to boot!  This little black and white girl hissed at us when we first picked her up, but she quickly became part of the family.  Zane, however, took a little longer to get used to her...

Here she is - Isis the kitten.  What a sweet girl!

Isis loves to play as well.  This spider was destroyed in half an hour!

Here's Zane as a full-grown cat - was he hiding from Isis?

Naw, they got along just fine.  They loved to tackle each other and run around the apartment.Isis and Zane

They even sleep together!  They were best buds...Isis and Zane

Here she is, all by herself, feeling very lonely... :(

Isis

The hardest thing I ever had to do was leave Zane behind.  I ended up leaving my boyfriend, and I took Isis with me.  He got "custody", so to speak, of Zane.  I felt it was only fair, given that I was taking Isis, and he loved Zane as much as I did.  The last I heard, he was doing fine, but I still miss him VERY much.

I decided, after much thought, that Isis needed a new companion.  A few years ago, I picked out a new kitty for her to play with - a beautiful orange male.  I named him "Bo", short for Bocephus, and Isis and Bo became fast friends.  Here he is relaxing on the heater.  He's very good natured, patient, and VERY friendly - loves people AND other cats!

Look at that big fluffy orange guy!  He's the friendliest cat in the world!Bo

Look, she's come up to say "hi"!Isis and Bo

Then along came Dusty... when I moved again, it seemed like a good time to add another cat to the menagerie.  She's absolutely beautiful - and utterly crazy!  She doesn't like people all that much, but she loves Bo (who doesn't?!), and she's great with Petey, too.

Look at her, giving me the evil eye!Dusty

This cat is such a hunter!  Here, she's stalking a plastic ball, but her favorite toy is a balled-up tea bag wrapper. Dusty

One of the cats' favorite pastimes (other than chasing each other) is to sleep, of course, and I was able to capture them in their full lazy glory, sleeping in their favorite positions...

Isis's favorite position is at the foot of the bed, on her side.Isis

Bo loves to sleep on his back!Bo

And... well, I told you Dusty was crazy, didn't I?!Dusty

Here they all are, sleeping together, a perfect picture of harmony!Isis, Bo, and Dusty

Aww, aren't they cute?!

Well, I hope you've enjoyed my gallery of cats.  Believe me, if it were up to me, I would have more cats to display.  Maybe some day!  Well, thanks for stopping by :-)
