My Horses

A little background on this insanity - I've been collecting model horses since I was 8 years old.  I have always loved horses, but have never been lucky enough to own one (yet!).  These model horses are my substitute.  I collected until I was in high school, and then took a break for several years.  I re-discovered the hobby in 1999 through ebay, and have been active ever since.  I attend around 4 model horse shows a year (and as you can tell from the ribbons on the second and third shelf, I do quite well!).  I'm not gonna tell you how many I have, but if you have really good eyesight (and a whole lot of free time), you can probably figure it out :-)  Welcome to my virtual tour!

Shelf #1  Shelf #2  Shelf #3  Shelf #4

Shelf #5  Shelf #6  Shelf #7

Shelf #1 contains many Classic-scale Breyers, as well as some Traditionals.  There's also the random Breyer Stablemate, custom (or CM), and some Stone molds.

Shelf #2 houses many of the horses from my childhood collection, as well as the collections of my sister and my neighbor.  Again, there are a few Stone horses, as well as some ornaments.

Shelf #3 contains some of the jewels of my collection, the china horses.  These horses can be made of china or porcelain, but no matter the medium, they are fragile (and expensive!).  This shelf also holds quite a few mini artist resins and some original finish resins.  There are a few Breyers and Stones on the upper and lower shelves as well.

Shelf #4 holds many Breyers, including some "conga lines" of my favorite molds (Andalusian, Indian Pony, Foundation Stallion).  Stones on the bottom shelf, and the second shelf from the bottom is a "catch-all" for some of the newer horses.

Shelf #5 has also become a "catch-all"; all different kinds of molds, sizes, and makes are on the second and third shelf from the top.  The shelf also holds some of my "minis" (Stablemate and Little Bits Breyers), and some Stone congas (Ideal Stock Horses and Thoroughbreds).  There are some other Breyer Traditionals on the bottom shelf as well.

Shelf #6 is a big Stone shelf, holding the Palouses, Arabians, Tennessee Walkers, and Chips Saddlebreds.  There are, of course, others, like Breyer Traditionals, and some chinas as well.  Two more "catch-all" shelves

Shelf #7 contains lots of Stones (Performance Horse and Pony molds), as well as some Hartlands and Micro Minis.  The rest are Breyers mostly.  The bottom shelf is yet another "catch-all".

Here are some of my favorites from the collection:

OF Resin Mudir    China Suspiro    China Lady Phase Petite

OF Resin Arabian    Custom Pebbles Warmblood    Bubbles (Stone Horse)
