Pittsburgh Battery Download

These programs were written in DOS-based BASIC for IBM compatible PCs; here, we have included the executable files only (ready for running the tasks on compatible hardware). We will be including new source code on this site as soon as we can prepare it, updated to run on more modern computing facilities.  In most of the studies in which we have used these programs, we have supplemented them with additional software to facilitate online data collection of physiological signals, but this has not been provided here.

Please note the following software and hardware requirements for running these tasks:

  • Windows 98 or older. The program is not compatible with more current operating systems.

  • A joystick is required to run the Tracking Task.

This software was developed by Michael Eddy and Yaxi Zhang, who worked with Dr. J. Richard Jennings, the Principal Investigator on the grant from the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (HL41340) that funded this effort. Dr. Stephen Manuck was a collaborator on this project. We are unable to provide software support for these tasks.
