I am a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of Industrial Engineering at University of Pittsburgh. I am currently on leave at the IBM Thomas J. Watson Research Center as the 2009 Herman Goldstine Postdoctoral Fellow. I completed my Ph.D. at the School of Industrial and Systems Engineering (ISyE) of Georgia Institute of Technology and defended my thesis in August 2009, supervised by Professor George L. Nemhauser and Professor Shabbir Ahmed. I obtained my Bachelor in Mathematical Engineering and my Mathematical Engineering Professional Title from the Department of Mathematical Engineering of the University of Chile. I did my Mathematical Engineering thesis under the supervision of Professor Andrés Weintraub of the Department of Industrial Engineering of the University of Chile.
I am currently serving as the Vice-Chair (Chair Elect) of the INFORMS Section on Energy, Natural Resources, and the Environment (ENRE).
