I teach mechanical design, computer programming, and teamwork to 9-14 year old children. The majority of our team is composed of individuals with physical, mental, and/or emotional disabilities and children from economically depressed Pittsburgh neighborhoods. They have successfully participated in the FIRST® LEGO® League's annual robotics challenge with 1st and 3rd place trophies (made of Legos of course) in mechanical design and programming, respectively.
Biography

I studied mechanical engineering at Oklahoma State University and began my engineering career with Rupture Pin Tech- nology. After a few years, I found myself wanting to devote my career to improving the quality of people's lives. Bioengineering was the fit I was looking for and have since completed my MS in Bioengineering at the University of Pittsburgh with a concentration in rehabilitation engineering. I will complete my PhD in Bioengineering this year with a concentration in biomechanics.
