Welcome to the Gillespie
Laboratory!
If you are looking for the Materials Characterization Laboratory
(MCL), a part of the university of Pittsburgh's Dietrich School for
Arts and Sciences Shared Research Support Services (SRSS), you can
find that webpage here:

As always, this site is a work in progress...
About the Gillespie Laboratory:
Some of the inspiration for utilizing this approach to scientific
research comes from the late Peter Mitchell and his Glynn House
laboratory. Mitchell, the last of the true Gentleman Scientists,
developed the controversial and paradeigm changing chemiosmotic
hypothesis describing the production of ATP by the coupled activity
of ATP synthase with proton gradients across biological membranes.
Current Research Projects:
- Protein Misfolding and Aggregation
- Protein Folding and Design
- Environmental Biotechnology
- Medicinal Chemistry
- Biomaterials
- Strategic and Tactical Simulations
