NEWS AND UPDATES

MCL News:

* New Asylum AFM has been installed and training is open, contact Joel Gillespie to arrange training (jrg68@pitt.edu)

* New Novascan ozone processor is installed, contact jrg68@pitt.edu for training

* The MCL facility is in the process of moving some assets to the Chevron Science Center. This process will take some time and some instruments will be unavailable for periods of 1-2 days.

 

NFCF News:

* Internal training for the dip pen nanolithography system has been completed. The system should be ready for user training soon.

* The He dilution refrigerator is being moved to Physics to make room for a new sputtering unit.

Welcome to the Materials Characterization Laboratory!

The Materials Characterization Laboratory (MCL) was established to provide reliable and timely materials analysis and general analytical services to the Department of Chemistry, to the greater Pittsburgh community, and to external users in both academia and industry. The MCL maintains laboratories in the first floor of Eberly Hall as well as at additional point of use instrument clusters in the Chevron Science Center.
