Engineering 0715: Engineering Applications for Society

Who is Jeff Parvin?

Last year I graduated with honors from Pittsford Mendon High School in Rochester, New York, and now I'm a Freshman engineer at the University of Pittsburgh. I'm currently pursuing a dual degree in Electrical Engineering and Economics, but at this point, either of those majors could change. My hobbies include rowing and swimming, both of which I competed in at the varsity level in high school. I also enjoy movies, reading, and playing poker, and video games.

Team 11 - Engineering Education With Lego Mindstorm

Section 2 - TEAM 2F

Our Challenge: To develop Lego Mindstorm robots for Carnegie Science Center “Engineer the Future” weekend with the goal of finding unique ways to educate elementary and middle school students about physics and engineering, and to engage and attract them to the field. Subsequent to this event, the team will develop an educational video utilizing Lego Mindstorm designs. The video must be presented to a group of middle or high school students for their feedback.
