Research Interest
I am interested in how selection shapes individuals, populations, and communities through game dynamics where any response has to be examined in terms of potential responses by others. Specifically, I am fascinated by exploiter victim systems such as predator prey interactions. Currently, I’m tackling a large collaborative project looking at predator and competitor induced plasticity across about 50 species of US frogs and toads. We’re using a phylogenetic approach to examine what factors appear to drive selection for plasticity. My other main focus is on the game dynamics of freely interacting predators and prey across different patches and habitats. Generally, I use a mixture of theory and field and laboratory based empirical studies to investigate these interactions.
