Born and raised in California, John earned an A.B. in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley in 1986 and a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of California, Los Angeles in 1992. He is currently Professor of Economics at the University of Pittsburgh and Director of the Pittsburgh Experimental Economics Laboratory. He also serves on the editorial boards of European Economic Review, Experimental Economics, Games and Economic Behavior, and the Journal of Economic Dynamics and Control.
