Dr. Jacob

Principal Investigator

Tija C. Jacob earned undergraduate degrees in Zoology and Liberal Arts (Plan II Honors) at the University of Texas at Austin. After graduation, she was a Fulbright scholar conducting research at the European Molecular Biology laboratory in Heidelberg. She was awarded her Ph.D. in Molecular and Cell Biology at the University of California, Berkeley in 2002. She began her postdoctoral training as a research fellow at the MRC Laboratory for Molecular Cell Biology (LMCB)/Pharmacology Department in University College London. This was followed by research appointments in the Neuroscience Departments of University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine in Philadelphia and then Tufts Medical School in Boston.  Dr. Jacob joined the Pharmacology and Chemical Biology Department at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine as an Assistant Professor in March 2011.






Megan Brady

Postdoc

Megan is from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She completed a Ph.D. in the Neuroscience Department at University of New Mexico, Albuquerque in 2012.

Chase Moon

Undergraduate Student

Chase is currently a sophomore Neuroscience major, Spanish and Chemistry minor at the University of Pittsburgh from Cressona, PA. He plans on attending graduate school and work towards a Ph.D. in his field of interest. Chase enjoys outdoor activities and reading a good book.



Nick Graff

Undergraduate Student

Nick is from Olathe, KS, which is just outside of Kansas City. He is a sophomore majoring in Neuroscience and History and Philosophy of Science here at Pitt. His future plans involve grad school and eventually a PhD in neuroscience. His main interests lie at the synaptic and biochemical level of neuroscience, as it's the most fundamental way to study the brain. In his free time, he likes spending time with friends and exploring the city.
