Special Program in Classics, Philosophy, and Ancient Science

The Classics, Philosophy, and Ancient Science Program (CPAS) serves students wishing to focus on ancient science. It is an MA/PhD program offered jointly by the Departments of Classics, Philosophy, and History and Philosophy of Science. Students interested in the Philosophy and Science of Classical Greece and Rome may enroll in the CPAS program. Students in CPAS work closely with each other and with the cooperating faculty drawn from three departments.

In addition to the HPS core curriculum, CPAS students must develop facility in Greek and Latin. They take courses in classical literature, history and philosophy, and modern philosophy.
