We are a multidisciplinary lab centered in the area of protein bioorganic chemistry. Our research program spans the fields of organic synthesis, biophysics, structural biology, and materials science. Among our active projects, we are working to:
(1) Develop strategies to produce supramolecular soft materials with tunable properties through the programmed self-assembly of bio-inspired macromolecular building blocks.
(2) Invent principles for the design of protein mimics with unnatural backbones and folded structural complexity comparable to that of intricate tertiary folds found in Nature.
(3) Explore chemical methods to stabilize peptide folded states and trap intrinsically disordered peptide ligands in receptor-bound conformations in situ.
